The "Thanks" In Thanksgiving
Remember the little Jessica who was trapped in a well a few years back? How everyone in our entire nation (instantly) came together in prayer, hope, and aid for that little girl? They worked tirelessly and gave of themselves from the heart to save her and extract her from the well. That is how our family is. When someone is in trouble, we come running like over-zealous EMT's to the rescue. Who could ask for anything more? I am very grateful for all of you, and give thanks to the Lord for each of us.
In good times we think often of each other even when time does not permit a visit or a phone call.. there is a connection that cannot be broken. It borders on ESP. One will think of the other, and before too much time has passed, e-mails are sent, phone calls are made, and one shows up on the doorstep unexpectedly. We are surely Blessed. I am thankful for all of these things.
My thanksgiving goes out every day to God for all he has done for me. My back feels better now.. even tho there was a time (not too far back) I did not think my pain would ever go away. One of the seeds of blessing was planted when a massage therapist gave me a copy of Joel Osteen's book "Your Best Life Now". It took a long time for God to manifest all those promises.. but He did! The healing, the feelings of well-being have led to much hope for the future. So much so, that my on-line business is about to take off! Another shout-out of thanks to Henry for hooking me up with Dr Allyson. That was the huge turning point for healing. She in turn brought me to gentle Yoga. Which is a God-send for anyone with hurting joints and bones.
Thanks Lord, for this awesome family who helps me thrive every day. Thanks for being the most generous Heavenly Father that we serve.
Peace Love Joy Happiness

Seasons Change
Well, Summer has finally given way to Fall. Soon the holidays will be here. This Summer has been and "endless" one for me. I could not believe I was boogie boarding on the 16th of October!!. Been a blast.
But change is good. These next few weeks will give me time to concentrate on some important new things in my life. I have a lot of work to do to get a Web-Site up and running. The plan is to be on-line by the last week in November. of course, I won't know the results for a month or two.
By the end of the year we will have a new President. I just pray it is not the wrong one. Economically, I would rather "pay it forward" than ship a lot of it to Bank Geneve.
On the family front, things are real good. Many birthdays so far this year, and a few to come. Keir is 15, Kelis is Three, Mozelle, will be one year old!. My two nieces have had their birthday celebrations already, I turned 60! (dear God, did I actually say that?) My sister had a fun celebration too. At Thanksgiving, we have my mom's birthday, and at X-Mas, it is Henry, Alphonso, and Frank. Henry will also turn 60 this year. We will celebrate Big I suppose. In January, my sweet dad is going to be 88 years old. (Yikes..there I go again) That is amazing.
I am truly Blessed. In a few weeks, I will blog again, with more exciting news. From my lips to God's ears... Love and Peace, Linda

Summer's End
Wow! This Summer has been amazing. Now that the season is almost over, I am a little sad. But next year will be even better. The waves today were a lot of fun. I could not pass up this beautiful day, so I went to the beach for boogie boarding. Love It! There have been some losses too. One of my friends up in Los Angeles, who used to teach me dance when I was about 21 years old, lost her younger sister. She died of Lou Gherig's and then Pneumonia finally took her at the age of 82. My dear friend Day who taught us dance in San Diego, and choreographed many dance numbers for us as well, died at the age of 71. He passed away 3 days after my 60th birthday. He had brain cancer. He will be greatly missed. I spent many hours in rehearsal with him. Very funny guy too. Always made the girls laugh. We (many of us) will attend his memorial service this Sunday in San Diego.
The new Fall season will be a wonderful challenge for me. I will be starting my internet business in November. I have read many books, and learned a lot over the past 2 months. There will be a lot more studying before I am ready.
Each of my "visions" and hopes and dreams, are written down for me to see, and look forward to. I love planning the space where I will be living in the near future. So, when it all comes together, we can have many fun parties and gatherings at my place!!
I can hardly wait. God has been so good to me this past 6 months. Healing my back, and giving me the visions for my new and wonderful future. Love and peace to all of you out there in blog land, Linda

"Progress"
Hi everyone in blog-land.. I went to Fry's today to redeem my gift certificate so generously given to me by my sister (Karen). Got the DVD "Step Up 2" and a couple of real nice CD's for listening. Went to dance class for the first time in 4 weeks. I kept up with my Ballet practice during the hiatis of the dance academy time. I am able to do more each time I try. More stretched, more flexible, better turns, and even small jumps. Progress. It is one of the most important things in my life right now. I spent 2 + years feeling like I had hit a brick wall, and was never going to get back up. Well, I did. The good news is, it feels great, and the strides I have made in the last 6 months have astounded even me. Hoooray!
Another thing I am proud of, and give thanks to God each day for,,, is my new venture. I am doing some dollar earning by demonstrating Folex for Stonhaus Brokerage. This Saturday will be my first day to start. I look forward to doing these demos for at least three months. It will take me to phase two of my plan for financial independence.
Everything going on right now, is a blessing. One of these days this blog will show the manifistation of my dreams. So, I have adopted my philosophy of not whining anymore, and copied the "Nike" phrase.. "just do it". So, I am.. I'm just doing it.
I feel like soon the Summer will start to fade. I love Summer so much it is my favorite season of the year. I will not be depressed tho, I will be very happy and busy with my new ventures. Praise the Lord.
Never give up on your dreams, never let anyone say you cannot do something. Always stay focused and press on. God and the Universe want all things good for you. Now you just need to want them for yourself.
'Till nexr time, Peace Love Joy and Happiness, Linda

My 60th Birthday ! !
My goodness. I have turned 60 this year. Thank God I can still do some of my favorite things. One is to "hang" with my friends and family. Which I got to do all of that this time. The wine tasting at the "Wine Loft" was such a fun experience. The Flying Bridge dance excursion was kind of a bust, but I had fun there too. The Thursday before, I went to the beach to sun-tan and boogie board. Then I went to my niece Angie's house where she took me to Encinitas for "taste of Encinitas" and Woodie Cruise Night. Too much fun. All the people, wine, and beer, the food and wine at Giovannis, everything went perfect. The cards, and gift cards were amazing too. Thanks everyone, I love you, Linda

My Sister & Hubby's 40th
Hey all. I had so much fun with my whole family, including my brother John and his wife Gloria, at the party on Saturday. They came in from Montana, and we celebrated my sister's birthday and her wedding anniversary to Hen of 40 years! Lots of great pictures were taken, and much more merriment was had by all. The kids (of course) stole the show yet again. Kelis, Keir, and little Mozelle are the cutest things around. Congratulations to Hen & KK. Love to each of my wonderful family. I had a blast! Best Summer Ever
Hi everyone. I just got off the phone with my sister Karen, to wish her a happy birthday. Looking forward to the party on Saturday. Had a fun time with Karen and Angie the other night out on the patio in Encinitas. Went to the beach on Thursday and again on Sunday. All was super-great except for the undercover sherrif boys following me. Yikes!. Saturday, I went with Fran & Merna to Crazy Burro, Wal-mart, then to Coyote's Bar in Carlsbad, for some munchies and wine.
This year the water and the sun and the waves and being able to get a tan and go in to ride some wave-os is awesome. Lovin' Life .. Peace Love and Happiness to all, Linda

Another Awesome Beach Day
Hi all. On Sunday I went to a beach in Carlsbad, close to the village. A nice man helped me get my cart down the steps. (Going back up was not so bad).. Anyway, the weather was so nice, and I rode with my top down along the coast. Mostly looking for a place to park. Finally found one by the Carlsbad Village area (Grand Ave). Went in the water twice, and rode my boogie board on some small waves 5 times! Lovin' it! Hopefully the rest of this Summer will be awesome too, so I can take my niece Angie and Keir in my car to any favorite beach and hang out! I did ok, back did not hurt too much from all the wave activity. Getting back to who I am. Love to everyone, Linda

Great Day Today
Hi everyone. Awesome day today. First I went to an interview, more like an orientation at a new caregiving agency. Filled out all the forms, and got some time cards to start with. Then I did some laundry.. (Yuk!) Came home and rested before going to Ballet class. Super class. Danced for 45 minutes non-stop. Did all the barre work, and even broke a sweat. While the other kids were doing the rehearsing for their up-comomg dance recital, I practiced on my own with some turns I had not done for ages. Did real well this time. One of the very young male students did not know who Mikhail Baryshnikov is. Nor Rudolph Nuryev. So, I enlightened him. Told him to try to get some video tapes of these amazing artists. Two of the best dancers in recent history. Anyway, just wanted to share that with you. Life is Gooood!.. Love and Peace, Lin

The burgers, and potato salad and the pasta salads were great. Thanks Karen..We got there about 10:30 AM and left at 4:00 PM. good idea, the fog got worse by the time the fireworks were on.. reported by my roomate's family who stayed late. The show on channel 7 Macy's fireworks from New York were awesome as usual. The best production in the country. Well, 'till next time I write.. Love and Peace, Linda

Father's Day Tribute
June 15, 2008
Tribute For My Father
Today is Father's day. It is a very special day for all of us. Especially those who have awesome dads. A few days ago, a beloved father, and newscaster (Tim Russert) passed away. He was 58 years old. He left behind a wife, a son (18 years old) and his own dad. Everyone in the media was deeply saddened at this news. Not too long ago, Tim had written a moving book giving tribute to his own dad. Apparently, this book was filled with love for his dad, and all the accolades due him.
None of us knows how much time we have on this earth. We should none of us ever take anything for granted. Since my back surgery, and subsequent losses, I don't take things for granted anymore. Not things, abilities, or people. I cherish all of the things in my life that I do have. All of my abilities, and more importantly, all of the people I have in my life. I cherish my family. Each and every one. They are wonderful gifts from God.
If there was an outline for being a great dad.. Dad, it would be very much like the outline of your life. From the beginning, you are the most kind, wise, generous, and patient man I have ever known. Your optimism and zest for life is inspiring. The fun we have always had growing up, I could never forget. You have been a soldier, a teacher, a lifeguard, and a myriad of other wonderful things too. Your life experiences could fill a whole biography book. I'm so proud of you and all of your accomplishments.
A dad should be the "Prince Charming" in every little girl's life. I am blessed.. because, I got the Prince!
On this Father's Day, I just want you to know how much I appreciate and love you. I love you with all my heart.. now and always.
Your Daughter,
Linda

Awesome Beach Day
Hi Summer-loving people. I had a great time at the beach yesterday, with all my nieces and grand-nieces. Kelis is so cute. She loves her sand toys and being with all of us. Mozelle is the living doll of all time. I just want to keep kissing her, she is as sweet as honey. I love Jenny's new hair look. Wow! She looks like a movie star. Angie looks wonderful. She is happy and centered. She always keeps my feet on the ground. All in all, we had a great day. This time, I took 3 waves. Hooray. Angie body surfed and rode a few herself, feeling exhilarated. Next week is 4th of July. We get to "hang" at the beach with the entire family. Can hardly wait. Will be a blast. 'Till then folks, have a good one.. love and peace, Linda

Dr. Coufal, and Dance Class
Hi all. I saw Dr. Coufal yesterday, because he wanted to make sure things were better, since my last visit in December. Back then, I was in so much pain, he immediately ordered a new MRI and put me on to a pain specialist. I explained what I've been doing, and how it has helped. He was so pleased. He did not think I needed to have the hardware removed. It is an option I will research. I did not ask him the recovery time for such an ordeal.
Dance class was great. I feel better and mostly feel better self-esteem. Hooray. Hope this finds everyone well and happy. Love and Peace.. Linda

Boogie boarding ..and Ballet Class
Hey all you Summer Fun Loving people. I went to the beach today, and it was of course, beautiful the water was great. I took my boogie board out and rode one wave. I have not done that for about 3 years!! Hoooray. Was a lot of fun. Next time I'm heading to "Goonlight" because there are no rocks in the sand there.
I had a wonderful week. Started out with a great Yoga class, followed by physical therapy.. then a good Ballet class. I am making more progress each time I go. I can actually do chene turns and some piques too. Never thought I could do them again. Life is good. My therapist says, the more exercise I do, the better I will feel, and the more I can physically do. It is a win-win situation. Praise God. I know Angie is having a blast as I write this.. so a shout out to her.. and when she gets back we have a lot to talk about. Love you.. Peace Out, Lin

Cool Fun
Hey everyone. I had a real nice time with my niece Angie and my Grand Niece Keir on Tues evening. We had pasta and salad and good food at Filippe's in Encinitas. I finally got to give them their presents and cards for their birthdays!. Thanks Angie for a fun evening. Wishing you all the best on your trip, I KNOW you will have a lot of fun. I am sending some e-mails to various Yoga studios in North County. I want to let them know about my new back healing class, and give them a synopsis of my syllabus. Wish me luck. 'Till I get a chance to blog again, here's Love Peace and Happiness goin out to you.. Linda

Yoga and Teaching
Hi all you Zen and Yoginis out there. My Yoga class was so good today. I also went over (after class) to Bodacious Living ( a Yoga Center) in Carlsbad, and spoke to the manager. I asked her if she had any places on the schedule for me to start a new class. She told me not until September, but to e-mail her with my idea and my contact info. So I did. I want to teach a class called "the Healing Back Class". It would consist of easy Yoga, easy Pilates, easy Ballet, and some physical therapy for the back based on Callenetics. there are so many people who have back problems, and would love to avoid back surgery.. that I'm sure the class would be a welcomed thing in the community. And, I could earn extra dollars, to save and eventually start my computer business!! Life is good. I will also look into other venues to try to get classes going.
Hope this finds everyone well, centered and happy. Love, Linda

Beach Weather
Hi everyone. I went to the beach for 2 hours on Sunday. The weather was beautiful. I read my book, and got some nice color on my skin. Next week, I will venture into the water with my boogie board. Has been almost 3 years since I have done that. I also, went to see my parents to give a nice Father's Day card to my dad, along with a nice gift for him. He is so cute. "Cats"
Wow. I saw Cats about 20 something years ago, in Los Angeles at the Shubert Theatre. Was fantastic. Again, unreal and fantastic this time. I had a blast watching it with my niece Angie and her daughter Keir. They enjoyed the production a lot too. We had a glass of wine before the show. Next time because they charged $7.50 for one small glass, I'm investing in a flask. That was a little much. Other than that, we enjoyed the wonderful morning sunshine in "paridise" San Diego, saw a super good play.. and headed home to rest. I again, slept like a rock. The day before, on Saturday.. I went with my friend Merna downtown to Balboa Park (Casa Del Prado Theatre) to see Fran do her annual recital, and she tapped her way into our hearts once again. Was a lot of fun, and her family was there as well including the little ones (her grandkids) to support her performance. All in all, the production was real fun, and all the dancers (especially the "company" dancers did a real nice job on stage. This coming week, I will help my family with the co-ordination of Father's Day. We always have a lot of hungry people, so food is a big priority. Until I write again, I'll sign off.. Love and Peace, Linda

Very Busy Week
Hey all.. I went again to Ballet class last night, came home and watched "So You Think You Can Dance". First, I cooked for my parents and took some good food over for them. Had a bite to eat there, then right off to class. Slept like a rock. I actually found some tiny progress in class. Could do a bit more than last week. Hoooray. Today is a work day. Tomorrow is pick up tickets for my friend's recital (Sat morn). Go to the bank, get some rest. then get ready to travel downtown for the recital, picking up Merna on the way. Thank God I'm off on Sunday. Because in the early Matinee.. Angie and I and Keir are going to see "Cats" downtown again. Whew! I hope next week is more mellow. Should be. But I have to get ready for Father's Day and my niece and her daughter's birthdays. Fun, fun, fun. Life is good. Love and peace, Linda

Sex And The City
Hey out there.. The movie was wonderful. I laughed I cried, and laughed some more. My sister Karen and I saw the flick Tues evening, and we both loved it. Samantha is a riot. Her expressions when viewing a very naked, and God-Like Dante, were priceless. The costumes, the jokes, the gay guys, the whole thing was a lot of fun. Definately a "chick-flick". There was a fair amount of men in the audience, and they were laughing as much as the women. This is definately not for young kids. All adults could enjoy this romp, tho.
I had a very good day earlier on too. Yoga was fun and healing. After the movie, I went over to see my Niece Angie's progress on her painting of her space. Getting done, and looking good. Hooray for you Ang. I have to go today for my back therapy, then grocery shopping. Because I will cook some home-made goodies for me and my parents on Thurs. Love and Peace, Linda

Saturday..
Hey. I had a good Friday, and a good Saturday so far. Got up, got off work, then went to my Mom & Dad's for brunch. karen & Henry were there and supplied the food. I cooked and cleaned up. Was tired, went home, and napped for an hour. Got in the shower, made myself look cute, and went to the place I used to work as a bartender, call "One More That's It". Had 2 wines and a bloody mary.. Got to talk with old friends and just relax. Was wonderful, and just what the doctor should order. We (Karen And I) decided to go to see Sex and The City next Tues, at La Costa Ulra Star for the 4:00 showing. I am looking forward to that. Bye for now.. Love to all.. Linda

Dance class Yesterday
Hi everyone.. I went to a Ballet class last night for the first time in months. I think it was last August. I did real well. It was of course a Beginning class for about one hour. I cannot do any jumping, yet, but got through the rest of class with flying colors. I know I will be at the beginning level for at least one year, maybe not quite that long. Then I will move up the ladder one rung at a time. The next step is intermediate. I was a little sore, but not injured or hurt. YEAH. The lady who owns the studio, I have known for years. I used to teach at her studio. She wants me to think seriously about teaching little kids (classes) once a week. That way I can heal faster, get paid a little, and get free dance classes too. I am so excited.
I am looking forward to this Summer (already here) so I can boogie board in the "baby" waves. Hopefully, my neice Angie and I (and we hope Keir) will be able to see "Cats" in a week or so. That will be heaven. Many good things are happening. Each day is a new surprise, just the way I like it. As for meeting someone, with my busy schedule, it will just happen. Because, I cannot focus solely on finding the right guy.. They will have to find me in my travels. Probably just the way it should be.
One of the things I have learned in relationships (the hard way).. is that I do not (now) believe a word they say. Actions always speak louder than words. It is a fine balance between what you are looking for, and what type of person they really are. You have to demand respect from them at all times. And if they do not respect you or treat you like a princess (always) they must hit the road and pound sand. That is my way of protecting myself from the rotters ou there.
i have to sign off for now. More later. Love to all, Linda

Babysitting Molly
For the week-end (Memorial) I sat with Molly Mae the munchkin Maltese. She is so cute. Karen & Hen got back early on Monday, so I'm sure Molly was happy to see them. I had my friends Merna & Fran over for dinner, and we had a good time on Sat night. I did Yoga practice today. Felt great. Back is better. This week, I am making Thurs MY day. Going to go to dance class come he.. or high water. Got to start back to my first love.. dance. Went to Henry's ans Stater's markets today for all my groceries. Saved a ton of money and got some fresh and wonderful food. For $24 I got enough to last at least 7 or 8 days. They had lettuce at Henry's for 49 cents. Unreal prices. Thank God, with the price of gas, I need a break somewhere.
Hope this finds you well and happy. comment if ya want to. Love and Prayers, Linda
